Sign4ERA.org, founded and spearheaded by former Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, is solely focused on enshrining the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Sign4ERA has harnessed the expertise of a passionate team of volunteers of all generations and a crew of unpaid, seasoned veteran strategists, organizers, data analysts, and media specialists to advance its goal.

We are working to build an informed, influential, and activist base in key congressional districts to alert voters and politicians to the importance of enshrining the ERA in the Constitution and to regularly share actions they can take to make supporters’ voices be heard.

Sign4ERA.org is spearheading a dynamic grassroots intergenerational campaign to move Congress to affirm and recognize the already-ratified Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) into the U.S. Constitution as the 28th Amendment. We are endorsed by more than 40 women’s rights organizations, including the ERA Coalition, civil rights and human rights groups, scores of mayors, campus organizations, and religious and civic groups.

The ERA has already been ratified by the required 38 states. The President has made a statement that the ERA is the law of the land. We need Congress to affirm and recognize ratification regardless of any timeline so that the Supreme Court and all lower courts cannot remand the ERA back to Congress.

A joint resolution has been introduced in both the United States House and Senate to do just that.

This campaign is aimed at sharply focusing both voters and politicians on the urgent need for the ERA in support of these joint resolutions that have majority support among voters.

The confluence of extremist threats to abortion and reproductive health care, coupled with a long-standing demand for gender equality, has now resulted in a super majority of voters – 75% by the latest poll – demanding that the permanent protections of the ERA now be enshrined in the Constitution as the 28th Amendment.

Only the ERA can provide permanent, nationwide protection for a wide range of personal freedoms ranging from abortion and birth control to marriage rights, financial equality, access to equal legal protection against sexual violence, and a host of other rights.
